Future university student. Currently in a gap year. Just working part-time and doing random shit like creating a useless site during my unending free time. I'd be really happy if you thought my site was cool.
I've come across a bunch of Youtube videos about "starting your own personal website", "join the indie web", "how to cure your brain rot" etc.. And it actually got me really interested, but I was also REALLY skeptical. I mean, me? A rando with no knowledge in computer science apart from cracking games getting into coding? Not to mention the fact that I'm the kind of person that has a really hard time starting anything new, even just a simple hobby. Not only because of my shitty attention span and easy quitter personality.
But MOSTLY because I didn't think I'd be up for the task. I still decided to at least open a Neocities account and scroll through other people's website. And while looking at other people's websites I got jealous because of HOW COOL THEY LOOKED. I also loved the message and movement behind the revival of the indie web. I am too young to have actually experienced these kind of websites during their heydays but that was the perfect occasion!!
I was scared and overwhelmed at first but all the resources that are available for free on the internet made it so easy to understand and learn everything (even for an idiot like me).
ANYWAY.
Just to say that anyone can do this and you should too, (if you want) don't be scared!
(Also sorry if my English isn't really good it's my second language.)
